When Audi brought the A5/S5 model to the streets, there was no question that it would serve to be a truly beautiful platform upon which many enthusiasts would build their next ride. All over the world, these cars have been modified to various levels, from basic suspension drops and wheels to full body modifications and air ride setups. Some cars stand out more than others as the platform has proven to be variable in just about every aspect.

In the country of Lebanon, Roy Bistany (username Wah) has taken his 2010 Audi A5 S line and built a tough looking mean sounding prowler, one capable of turning heads everywhere it goes. Ordered brand-new in Phantom Black with a 2.0T FSI power plant and automatic transmission, Roy has not looked back since installing his first modification. Upgrading from his previous 2007 A6 S line, this new ride has provided him the opportunity to start from scratch and really develop a look that is unique to himself, and quite honestly his country.

With such a small Audi enthusiast scene in Lebanon, the parts, labor, and know-how have been hard to come by. It makes websites and online forums like Audizine even more effective in Roy's process. As he started modifying his car, the grille and mirror caps being changed within the first month of ownership, he has always been mindful of keeping the ride within limits in order to avoid looking overdone. With a mixture of both show and go, Roy has found a good balance of mods to keep the ride looking good.

It wasn't until after installing the ST coilovers that he got the most excited. Taking the ride around the corners and through the hills of his hometown with the modified suspension showed him just what kind of beast laid beneath the skin of the Audi A5. That is also when he realized the seats just were not up to par with his style driving, which became another thing to add to the list of work to come.

Roy's A5 is not just a modified grille, mirror caps, and suspension. Inside, he has added the RS 6 flat-bottomed steering wheel, RS 5 sport pedals, AWE boost gauge, PYSpeed LED interior lights, and custom floor mats. Outside, this once normal A5 sports a Rieger rear roof spoiler, Xenon-match fogs, and probably one of the darkest tints available. Propelling it forward, the stock 2.0T engine has been tuned by REVO, with a Carbonio/APR cold air intake, EuroCode FMIC, EuroCode high flow cat, and Magnaflow mufflers.

While this ride is not the most modified on the forums, it stands out due to the complete package it brings to the roads of Lebanon. From top to bottom, Roy has worked hard to stay within his goal of keeping the modifications simple and precise, while taking the car's style to a whole new level. Sure the journey to get this car may have been the easy part, there has been quite a bit of blood and sweat shed in the process of the build, most of it being Roy's. He said he shed tears too, but this fellow enthusiast knows Audi men don't cry!

Over the course of the last three some-odd years, Roy has turned his ride into his hobby, bringing something a bit uncommon to his country. It is not without credit to his fiancé, friends, family, and the members of Audizine that have kept him going. With more big plans coming, including new wheels as I type, Roy proves that even distance from a reputable shop shouldnt slow down anybody's goal of creating what they truly love.

Q (Audizine): How long have you owned this vehicle?
A (Roy): Three years and 2 weeks.

Q: How has your ownership been with it overall?
A: Good, overall; though it hasn't been all smiles and sunshine.

Q: Where did you find the car, and how was the buying experience?
A: I didn't really find it per say. I had ordered an A5 from the local Audi dealership, and 6 months later, voila! There she was.

Q: Think you'll get another one in the future?
A: Eventually, I hope so. Not sure if I want to sell this one though.

Q: Is this your first Audi? If not, what other models and years have you owned?
A: No, I used to own a C6 2007 A6 3.2 S line.

Q: How long have you been into Audis and in the European tuning scene?
A: Ever since high school I've had a liking for the way Audis were built. I haven't been in the tuning scene long though; I had begun slightly modding the A6 but never took that project far.

Q: How long have you been into cars in general, as an enthusiast?
A: I've always had a thing for cars.

Q: Where do you think that passion and enthusiasm comes from, can it be traced back to anyone or anything?
A: Not really sure, I guess the male gene.

Q: What do you most love about the car?
A: How it sits and shows off its sexy lines.

Q: What's your biggest peeve in regards to the car, the one thing you dislike the most?
A: The seats! The car is so stable in corners that the seats don't provide enough lateral support to hold you comfortably in place.

Q: When did the modding bug bite?
A: About one month after I picked her up.

Q: Can you explain your modding style? Do you prefer more go, more show, perhaps a combo of both?
A: If I had to label it, I would say I am part of the OEM crowd. I like to stay within certain limits so it doesn't seem that I have overdone things. I prefer a combination of both go and show; you can't really have one without the other.

Q: Do you prefer to do the work yourself, or do you have a shop or specific person perform the work?
A: I prefer to do the work myself, and I have for a lot of my mods, but sometimes that's not always possible so I take it to Audi or a local shop.

Q: What was your first modification to the car?
A: Oh wow, so many modifications ago - thinking back now, my first mod to the car was probably the S5 grille and the painted mirrors caps, followed by a custom cat-back.

Q: Which was your last, most recent mod?
A: SPC front adjustable upper control arms.

Q: Which mod are you the most proud of or happy with?
A: The flat bottom wheel, ST coils, and the tune.

Q: How has your ownership been with it overall?
A: Overall it has been great, though I did shed quite a decent amount of blood, sweat, and tears to have her looking and riding as she does today. The VAG modding community in Lebanon isn't big and therefore parts, labor, knowledge, and trust are hard to come by.

Q: Describe your fondest memory of owning, modifying, or driving this vehicle.
A: The drive after installing coilovers was unreal, not to mention the aesthetics. It's my first lowered car. Getting the car tuned was quite pleasant as well.

Q: While your A5 is great, what's your dream car, or cars?
A: B7 RS 4, B8 RS 5, and an Aston Martin.

Q: What do your friends and family think about your passion for Audis?
A: They think I'm addicted to my car and that I spend too much money, time, and effort on it.

Q: How does your love for cars and Audis affect your life, does it play a pretty big part?
A: It does and it doesn't! I do spend quite some time researching and learning more about cars and the Audi tuning scene, but I don't let that affect my day-to-day lifestyle.

Q: What brought you to Audizine, and how long have you been with us?
A: I followed a link from A5OC, and I've been an active member since July 7th 2009. So, a little over 3 years now.

Q: When you're not on Audizine, out playing with the Audi, working, or going to school, do have any free time to spend on other sports or hobbies?
A: I love to ski, hang out with friends, grab a drink, and play sports of all kinds.

Q: Have an interesting day job? Care to talk a little bit about it?
A: I am in the business of educating children for a changing world.

Q: Any word of advice for your fellow enthusiasts, a bit of wisdom you'd like to impart on the masses?
A: Not really, except, make your modding experience and project personal and unique rather than imitating others. Creating your own style that works for you is what's cool.

Q: And lastly do you have anyone you'd like to thank, any shout-outs?
A: My fiancee, friends, and family. Also, I would like to give a HUGE shout out to everyone on Audizine and other forums who have supported me and helped answer any questions I've had over the years.
